Yeah you should continue the story or write one based on this idea.

I saw you post a reference to this story in your Yahoo group and followed you over here; thanks for that notification. I think I'd welcome the new world order you've built here; it's a nice fairy-tale solution of many of the world's ills. And I appreciate the thought you put into the spell, having it target "methods not ideologies". I often use something like that in my own personal definition of western democracy - 'freedom to do whatever you like as long as you don't hurt anyone else'. The devil's in the details, of course. It'd also be nice to have politicians who (a) could work together like that, and (b) acknowledge the difference between a 'politician' and a 'leader'. Given the state of the world today we've got a long ways to go on that one. And I had to raise an eyebrow - like Harry - about the enthusiasm of the Chinese to remove the tyrants of the world ... The 'impossible to answer' slant on that old 'take me to your leader' trope was honestly funny in that original Nonjon way. I really liked that and how it tapped into the story. The wacky Luna ending threw me for a loop, being so different from the rest of what had been a fairly 'serious' story. Not sure if that makes the story better or not? Good luck on your original fiction!

Well its different from your normal style. It was an ook one shot but I cant say I would want to read a whole story about this. The whole thing kinda reaked of fan-boy "Lets see how much cool shit and power we can give Harry"... well at least he didnt have a phoenix.

Well, that was quite a bit of exciting fun, wasn't it? Oddness and logical pitfalls aside, it presented a very interesting concept - one that doesn't necessarily even need Harry Potter as a connecting genre. I don't really think this really needs to continue - it ends with just about the right ending, I think.

Interesting concept. I found myself quite amused. The bit at the end with Luna takes the cake however. *Offers cake*

While I have more than serious doubts with the basic premise of a world government and what rights might be assured (respe4cted) I will leave that aside to say that this is one heck of a good story, and the dialogue with Luna at the end is simply priceless.

Like the plot, like to read more. Dave

You know, this would have just been weird without the Luna bit at the end. Her casual acceptance of the sex kitten... made me laugh. A lot.

LOL I loved this.... I hope you, or someone else, DOES continue with it... it's rare to find good mixes of sci-fi and HP (Culture Shock comes to mind though).... as always, great work!

Excellent. Nothing that made me laugh out loud, but certainly humorous. This submissive sex kitten shared between Luna and Harry intrigues me. >.> Nice drabble nonjon.

* helpless giggle * There were So Many bright spots in that one. I don't know where to start with the plaudets. It was fun from top to bottom. Thank you.

Very interesting fic, if more than slightly weird. I normally don't go for real world politics in fantasy, but you managed to make this work splendidly. Can't wait for your next project!

ROFL. That's all I can say. Though on the whole the idea is as unrealistic as it can be (using magic to wipe out terrorists? National leaders actually agreeing to such a risk? USA not trying to subjugate the whole world under this excuse? Others actually believing this to be the truth?) ... it was lulzy as hell.
Review for The Empire of Earth Chapter 1 from Omagic on June 06, 2008
Sir that has to be one of the weirdest and most unexpected ficlets from you yet. I'm not sure what to think of it, but I got the impression while reading it that you probably weren't sure what to think of it yourself. The infinite implications of the purging spell are too great to even start to wrap your mind around... and I think that's posited well in the story by the reactions you gave Harry to the news. Doesn't change the fact that it was well written and entertaining. I'd definitely read on if the fic were going to be the sort of slap happy comedy that was implied in Luna's future vision. But I'm okay with knowing that this is just a one-shot from you as well. Good show, Omagic

That was an enjoyable and interesting take on a possible future.

Wow. Damn. This was great. Loved the part about the VP being one of the 25 million. I had to laugh out loud at Harry's reactions. It's just like Harry to get voted Emperor of Earth in secret so he can go play friendly with some intergalactic aliens. I find it kind of hard to believe that they would want us lame humans to have a seat on some coucil though. Of course, I also find it hard to believe we actually went to the moon. One question though: what about the prophecy? See, I'm not even gonna ask about the sex kittens. Luna has always been a fav of mine, I'm glad you included her. So I know you're working on some original fiction now but I'd like to vote that you make your way back to this universe at some point, even if it is just another drabble. I'd love to see Harry trying to figure out a bunch of aliens. Great job as usual! Don't forget my vote for moar! -ELLE

Review for The Empire of Earth Chapter 1 from Lord Ravenclaw on June 05, 2008
That was interesting. It's not quite what I expected, but well done nonjon. I was amused at it. I can just imagine Harry's confusion, poor guy. Emperor of Earth indeed.
Review for The Empire of Earth Chapter 1 from nur1989 on June 05, 2008
Yay, first post ;) That's a big change from nonjons that I've avidly followed before but I like it. If you think about it, the only person who could possibly be unlucky enought to be wheeled out in response to "take me to your leader" would be Harry Potter, the Universe's Spittoon. There's no end to where this could go, literally since it's a space story and I'd be interested in reading what you make of any continuations. The idea that Luna and Harry have a personal sex kitten does not feature into my interest one iota, no siree ;).
